Frozen Reese's Pie with Oreo Crust

Frozen Reese's Pie with Oreo Crust

This pie might be TOO GOOD! It might not have been the best idea to make a frozen pie during Winter time but I don't think there is ever a bad time for any type of pie! The recipe for this pie and crust is so simple and it's no bake which is great! The total prep time, including the crust, is only about 10 minutes, not including the freezing process. This type of frozen pie is so versatile and isn't limited to Reese's candy, you can use any kind of candy bar that you like (I think I'll try Butterfinger next time) and add different flavors to the filling if you want to. It can pretty much go along with whatever mood you happen to be in.

First things first, here are the ingredients:

There's nothing wrong with Oreo and Reese's!

Crust:
  • 26-30 Oreo cookies
  • 1/4-1/2 Cup butter- Melted (I used 1/2 cup because it's easier to form into the pie plate that way)

Pie Filling:
  • 8 oz.- Softened Cream Cheese
  • 1 Cup- Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1/4 Cup- Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup- Peanut Butter
  • 8 oz.- Cool Whip
  • 1 Cup- Chopped Reese's Candy

Topping:
  • Chopped Reese's
  • 1/2 Cup- Melted Chocolate Chips (I used semi-sweet because there is enough sugar in this pie already!)
This pie is a no-bake wonder so the instructions are pretty easy to follow.

How to Make the Crust:
  1. Put Oreos into a food processor and process until they are fine crumbs (I don't have a food processor so I used my blender and it worked like a charm)
  2. Put crumbs into a bowl and stir in melted butter
  3. Work the butter into the crumbs until the mixture is dough-like and stays in a ball
  4. Spray pie plate with non-stick cooking spray and work the crust into plate until it is evenly spread out
  5. Freeze for 15-30 minutes for crust to set

Instructions to Make the Filling:
  1. Cream together cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk with hand mixer until fluffy
  2. Mix in peanut butter and powdered sugar until combined
  3. Fold in cool whip and Reese's until just combined so it stays fluffy and light- do not over mix
  4. Poor mix into frozen crust
  5. Cover tightly and put into freezer for 3 or more hours (make sure to cover very tightly so the pie doesn't taste like the freezer)
  6. Add Reese's and melted chocolate chips on top
  7. Slice it up and enjoy!

The finished Product!!

A few things about this pie:
  • Make sure to spray the pie plate really well with the non-stick cooking spray, I had a little struggle getting the slices out
  • You can swap the peanut butter for Nutella if you don't like peanut butter and change the candy to anything you like
  • Flavor extract can be added to the filling if you want a different kind of pie (mint extract and chocolate mint wafers can be used to adapt this to a grasshopper pie)
  • Different kinds of cookies can be used for the crust: Nutter butter, graham crackers, nilla wafers, etc.

Happy "baking"
